Autumn 2021This quarter, I took BIOC 451 (Honors Biochemistry). I really enjoyed taking this class, and it not only taught me lots about biochemistry but also helped me improve my scientific writing and reading skills. It was also great working with all my wonderful classmates! Here is a graphical abstract I created for the paper The soluble form of Bax regulates mitochondrial fusion via MFN2 homotypic complexes by Hoppins et al., 2011.

A super exciting part of this quarter was being able to have classes in person and hang out with my friends again. While school was online, I rarely had the opportunity to interact with peers my age so it was a great change of pace! Here is a picture I took on a trip to Pike Place Market with two friends I met during online school!

This quarter, I also started doing research in a biochemical oceanography lab! Much of the work has been building up my knowledge of the field and processing some of the data, but I'm very grateful and excited for this opportunity!
