Winter 2022 |
This quarter, I took BIOC 451 (Honors Biochemistry). For our final project, we were encouraged to be as creative as possible! I teamed up with my friends and we did our project on histone acetylation and memory formation. To test our classmates' own memories at the end, we threw inn a game-show style pop quiz. Anyone who answered got some candy! We also had a short interpretive dance to demonstrate the effects of histone acetylation on transcription. Sadly, I did not get a video of it, but maybe that's for the best as I tripped and fell in the middle of it.

This quarter, I started going into the lab more to help out with transferring diatom cultures and cleaning glassware! I am glad to be building laboratory skills. Here is a picture of some of the phytoplankton cultures.
One of my favorite parts of winter is being able to go skiing in the mountains! I have been cross-country skiing since I was 2 years old and I still enjoy it to this day. It's a great workout and I get to see some beautiful sights along the way!
